Eating And The City

There is something about going out to eat in New York City that triumphs dining in any other (American) city.

The experience aggregates all the best components of this enchanting little metropolis into a savory evening that tickles all of our many senses.

Let’s be honest. Living here tends to make us all into only children-types subconsciously demanding the attention of everyone around us. Don’t be hurt. I’m sure we’d all be very unique in Tulsa. However in New York the foodie, the fashionista, the blogger, the Green Peace activist, and the soap opera star all live in the same building. And they have probably never said more than “Hey” or “Thanks” to each other as Foodie girl held the door open for Green Peace guy to get his bike through.

But despite our differences there are certain truths about New Yorkers I’ve come to realize:

1) If we’re working our dream jobs we relish the chaos of the city. We dine to celebrate our contentment and to elevate our drive with the status of good food. If we’re not, we ponder calmer surroundings. Then, upon the realization that we could never truly leave, ponder what to eat and where to find it as a temporary happiness remedy.

2) What we wear is who we feel like being that day; there are at least fifteen possible people to choose from in each of our closets.

3) Upon arriving in New York, either at birth or as a later-in-life transplant, we are swept into a world of different pallets. We are exposed to the flavors of every country, of every state, and of every family whose culinary secrets turned into recipes for public consumption. “Melting pot” takes on a whole new meaning when you consider even the most mundane eater in New York could still stand as a dignified food snob anywhere else in the country.

All The Tastes of New York was created to propel an ordinary night out on the town to an amplified celebration of the many culinary choices we have in New York. With both public and private restaurant crawls in every neighborhood you are guaranteed to have a truly unique and mouthwatering night out with us.
